3 Months!

Eliza is 3 months today! In some ways it feels like a very short time and in others it feels like she has always been here. She has started smiling a lot more and is very close to rolling over. She is a very good eater and is slowly getting close to sleeping through the night. When she does wake up it is usually only for about 10 minutes to eat and then back to sleep. Eliza prefers to be facing out so she can watch everything just like her sister was at that age. Emily loves to give Eliza hugs and kisses. Which for the most part Eliza likes unless Emmy gets too close. I really feel like our family is complete with her. My favorite thing is to sit on the couch with my girls and watch them interact. I know that we are in for a lot of fun and shenanigans as the years go by. Happy 3 months baby girl!

Motormouth--An Emily update

Emily has become quite the motormouth lately. The words and phrases that come out of her mouth astound me. She tells me how beautiful and awesome I am, which is very nice. She also looks at me and shakes her finger when she doesn't want to do something. She is super into Doc McStuffins and Dora right now. So much that she is often quoting Doc. The other night she walked around saying "I have a little feber (fever)" over and over. She also has started saying Take a deep breath. I love our conversations. She comes up with new words every day.

Em loves being a big sister and is constantly concerned with Beliza--Eliza's nickname from her sister a combo of baby and liza. Where is Beliza? Why is Beliza crying? I miss Beliza. Emily loves to give Eliza hugs and kisses. She also loves to help in whatever way she can. She will hold Eliza's bottle and throw away diapers. She loves to feel involved.

Emily is also very into coloring. She often says Mama color me --or color with me for those of you who don't understand toddler. She makes scribbles and names them. Our driveway is full of chalk drawings which Em calls the beautiful colors

I can not believe my baby is becoming such a big kid. She is full of personality and spunk. She has done an amazing job handling the crazy transition into a family of four.

Eliza Jane

I realized that I have not blogged in over a month. In that month our world has changed tremendously. The end of my pregnancy was hard on me, especially with the crazy heat wave. I ended up taking more time off before giving birth than I initially planned. We played the waiting game for awhile since I was certain that I was going to go into labor early. I did not go early.

Before I went into labor we enjoyed a nice family night on Monday July 9th--Emily's actual birthday. We gave her a tricycle which we took for a spin around the neighborhood and then enjoyed some cupcakes together. I can not believe my baby is 2!

The next day was my actual due date. We ended up at the hospital after what I thought was my water breaking. After doing a test or two they told me that my water, in fact, had not broken. However since I was 40 weeks and the baby was very much in position to be born they decided to admit us and induce me. The induction process was much smoother this time around and actually kind of peaceful. After being on Potocin for awhile I took the epidural and had some much needed sleep. Early in the morning I felt the need to push so the doctors said it was go time. I was prepared for hours of pushing like I had with Emily. However Miss Eliza Jane Krause made her appearance after three short pushes. I think I was actually in shock for the next several hours. She was born with a full head of black hair just like her sister.

We have all been adjusting well over the last 7 weeks. Emily loves her baby sister more then words can say. She talks about Baby Liza all the time. As for Eliza she is a great baby. We feel so blessed to have both our girls and are enjoying life as a family of four. Check back in a couple of days for more pictures and stories about the last 7 weeks.

Home Stretch

My due date is 3 weeks away. Although based on how I am feeling, and what my doctor is saying, I believe the baby may come a little early. We are about as prepared as we can be for the new babe. Emily is talking more and more about the baby and likes to give my belly kisses. I think my baby girl is ready to be a big sister. She has been playing with her babies more and taking very good care of them. I am excited to see her interact with baby #2.

We are celebrating Em's 2nd birthday this weekend. It is about 2 weeks before her birthday but I wanted to try and make sure that we could have a day that was all about her before I deliver. Ironically Emily's due date was June 25th but wasn't born until July 9th. I somehow believe that this baby, who is due July 10th, will be born closer to June 25th. We shall see...

Super Girl

My birthday was last week. Thanks to Roger and Diane Kevin and I were able to go out to dinner just the two of us. It was very nice and very needed. My parents came this past weekend to celebrate. Emily had a great time playing with Papa who introduced her to "flying" and being Super Girl. Now Emily loves to run around the house with her arms up yelling "Super Girl!" it is very cute. I can't believe my baby girl is almost 2!
Happy Birthday Mama!

Dells Trip and Singing Songs

The Saturday of Memorial Day weekend we made a big push to get the majority of the landscaping finished. With the help of Kevin's dad and brother we were able to get all of the plants planted and a lot of rock down. Also our garage was cleaned and organized thanks to a shelving unit Brian brought with him. Beth and the kids came along too. Emily had a blast playing with her cousins. We were able to blow up her new pool and the kids helped Em become comfortable in her pool. Beth was also a big help. She got some things hung up on Emily's walls and helped me adjust the crib to get it ready for the babe.

After all of the hard work on Saturday we took Sunday to spend the day just the 3 of us. We decided to head up to the Dells for the day. We took Emily on her first Wisconsin Ducks ride. She was very excited to go on a boat. In fact she found the whole experience so relaxing she took a little nap while we were riding the ducks. Since is was so hot out that day we ended up going to an indoor arcade to kill a little time and soak up some air conditioning. Emily had a blast running around and sitting in a little bus. She kept saying My bus. Needless to say she was not that happy when we decided to leave. We grabbed a quick dinner at MooseJaw and headed home. It was a great day.

On Monday we were able to head to Mukwonago to help our good friends Eric and Andrea celebrate Andrea's birthday. Emily loves going to Eric and Andrea's house because she gets to play with all of their son Dax's toys. Dax is about 10 months and has a lot of fun toys. It was great to see them and catch up.

Emily's new favorite pastime is to sing songs. She knows most of the words to Twinkle Twinkle and loves to sing Baa Baa Black Sheep over and over. When we put her to bed at night she sings along with us. It is very adorable. I am hoping to get it on video to post one of these days. Em has also fully adjusted to her big girl room. She talks up a storm and learns new words every day. We carry on many interesting conversations in the car, usually about the big trucks that drive by or the sirens we can hear.

Baby K is doing well as am I. The doctor claims that we are now just playing the waiting game. Hard to believe that just around the corner we will be House of FOUR Krauses.
