Father's Day!

Father's Day weekend was a busy one for us. We were finally able to go to a birthday party for Dan and Erin's kids (Kevin's cousin). Rylie's birthday is very close to the girls so in the last 4 year I was either almost going into labor or having Emmy's birthday party. Since Reagan has come along they did a joint party in June. Emily had so much fun signing on the stage with the other kids and playing in the splash pad at the park.

After the party we headed to my mom and dad's house to celebrate Father's Day. It was great to be there Saturday night and Sunday morning. With the way my dad works he doesn't get to spend much time with the girls. So Eliza had a lot of new tricks to show off. Emily made sure to help Papa with his plants and take him for walks along the pathway.

Sunday afternoon we moved on to Brian and Beth's house for a joint Father's Day/Bennett's 7th birthday celebration. The weather was gorgeous and the kids were able to play outside for awhile. Emily loved the swing set. So much that I have a feeling we will be putting one up in our backyard by next summer. She also was able to take a dip in the pool. Em has just started swim lessons so she isn't a fish quite yet but she was able to float around for a little while.

We had a great time celebrating with everyone. It was an exhausting and fun weekend.

Summer Lovin'

Now that summer has finally shown up we are soaking it up. He have taking the girls geocaching (which Emily refers to as treasure hunting), played outside, gone to the park, taking countless walks at night. It has been much better then last summer when it was too hot to be outside.

Both Emily and Eliza love being outside. Eliza started walking! A few steps here and there at the end of May/beginning of June and has became a full fledged walker by the end of June. Eliza also loves to climb on any and everything. We have to keep our eye on her because she has become quite mischievous. She likes to eat the rocks from our landscaping and can climb up on the kids picnic table we have. Liza loves to clap and play peek a boo. Her little personality is starting to come out and it has been so much fun seeing how much she has grown and changed just in the last two months

Emily is doing everything full steam ahead. So much so we have had several bumps, bruises, and scratches already this summer. We keep reminding her to slow down a bit. She loves to play princesses and make believe. She has also become quite the drawer. She can spend a lot of time with her doodle pad drawing people. They have become quite intricate and she always remembers when she is drawing mommy to include my glasses. Emmy has developed an excellent memory and soaks up everything.  She is definitely turning into a kid these days. She has an excellent vocabulary and loves learning. She recently moved up into the 3 year old room and loves it.

We are all looking forward to more summer nights, trips to the park, and afternoons in our little pool. We want to take in as much summer as we can because before you know it it will be fall!

Turning 33

On June 6th I turned 33. While I went and worked out Kevin decorated the kitchen with the girls and made a great dinner. He even got me one of my favorite things to eat, Angel Food Cake. The girls (well Emmy) sang me happy birthday and helped blow out the candles. Emily made me two cards. It was one of my favorite birthdays to date. Emily is now very excited and she knows that her birthday comes after Mommy's.

Eliza's first Brewers game!

I have some major blogging catch up to do. Over the Memorial Day weekend we were able to go to a Brewer's game. It was Eliza's first game and probably the first game that Emily will remember. On the way to Milwaukee the weather was highly questionable. It was rainy and cold as summer had yet to show up in Wisconsin. We were fortune it enough to have Beth's sister, Stacy, volunteer her house as a plan b to tailgating. She lives very close to Miller Park and it helped keep the kiddos warm.

Once we got to the game Eliza took a little nap in the pack and Emily had a great time sitting next to her cousin Bennett. We were able to go check out the kids area for the first time. Emily got to run up and down the ramps to burn some energy. It was a great time had by all!

Mother's Day 2013

We spent Saturday of Mother's Day weekend in Janesville with Kevin's parents and grandma. Not only were we celebrating Mother's Day we were also celebrating Diane's birthday. It was a great day with a lot of laughs as the girls are always entertaining. Emily got to sing her Going on a Bear Hunt song for everyone which I need to try and get on video because it is so funny.

On Sunday we were able to head over to Racine and watch my mom get inducted as an associate to the Racine Dominicans. She has been working on it for a very long time. We were excited to be there to support her. All of the older men and women got a kick out of both of the girls. Em spent the majority of our time there running the hallways. It was an enjoyable day.

I am beyond overjoyed to the mother of my two girls. They bring both of us a lot of joy. It is wonderful to be able to celebrate Mother's Day weekend with Kevin's mom and grandma and my mom and grandma. We are certainly blessed!

Dreaming of Summer

With the prolonged winter that we have been having it was nice to finally get some warmer temperatures. Emily has been itching to get outside and play. Considering we told her she could once the snow melts, she has been "patiently" waiting. This past weekend we had glorious summer like weather and were finally able to pull out some outside toys and play. Needless to say both girls loved it. Being outside makes them both happier and helps them sleep better. It is great for everyone in our household.

We were lucky enough to participate in the Crazylegs 5k run walk this past Saturday for the 3rd consecutive year. We walk with a large group called TeamCALEB in loving memory of an amazing 5 year old boy who left the earth far too soon. It is a great event where we get the chance to catch up with some of our very dear friends that we don't seen nearly enough. This year the weather cooperated for the first time in a long time. It was a great walk with both of the girls.

Sunday we were able to play outside almost all day. We got to blow bubbles, play in the girls' play house and take many trips down the slide. It was so fun to watch Eliza discover new things outside and see how much Emily has grown since last year. She is able to run, skip and jump all over the place. It seems that both of our girls are outdoorsy which is great. Em even got to go on a geocaching adventure with Kevin while Liza napped.

Sunday also marked our 6 year wedding anniversary. We didn't do a ton to celebrate this year. We have several concerts lined up for the summer and an island vacation waiting for us in November. We did watch some of our wedding videos with Emily. It was great to see what she thought of everything. It may be a nice family tradition to start.

We are hoping that the warmer weather will become a more permanent thing so we can take more trips down the slide, blow more bubbles, take longer walks, and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

9 Months of Eliza Jane

It is hard to believe that Eliza has been out in the world for as long as she lived in my tummy. She is learning and doing new things every day. Liza is always on the move. She pulls up on everything and love to climb up things. She has started crawling on all fours and is really fast. She keeps up with Emily very well. Liza has started eating some table food here and there. She is a pretty good eater although she has an easy gag reflex which can occasionally cause her to throw up. She is is becoming a better sleeper although she wakes up more nights then she sleeps through. However we are beginning to see the light at the end of that tunnel. Liza is the youngest in her room at daycare. But she loves playing with the older kids and they love showing her how to do new things.

Eliza is still a little peanut. At her 9 month check up she weighs 18 lbs 9.9 oz and is 26.5 inches long. (Emily was 20 lbs 2.2 oz and 26.85 inches long). We recently moved her out of her infant carrier. She likes sitting up a little more in the car. Emily and her love to talk to each other and do a lot of laughing back there. Eliza thinks Emily is hilarious. Happy 9 months Miss Eliza Jane!
